Beardsley the woodland gnome free amigurumi pattern is, after Hugh the Hibernian, the second in the series of patterns I have planned for crocheting wee folk. This little gnome is rarely seen by people because he spends daylight hours underground. As his pale skin and large eyes attest, Beardsley ventures outside into the woods only at night time.

Beardsley is the perfect small amigurumi pattern for beginners – he’s made with single crochet in the round (for the body and hat) and in rows (for the beard). His little ears are made using a bobble stitch but full instructions for the two bobble stitches are included in the pattern.

A pattern for Beardsley’s cousin, the domestic garden gnome, will be forthcoming!
