Book Creator App For iPad and Proloquo4Text
Book Creator App For iPad and Proloquo4Text. In this video I’d like to share how I am helping my son Owen to use the Book Creator app, in conjunction with Proloquo4Text, to work on some of his remote learning assignments for high school.
Book Creator
Book Creator is an iPad app that both of my kids have been using for some time for both fun and school work. Children of all ages can use it to create and illustrate their own stories, comics and other projects.
Proloquo4Text
LAMP (Language Acquisition through motor planning) Words for Life continues to be Owen's primary form of AAC (Augmentative Alternative Communication). However, for longer form writing we have started to use Proloquo4Text from Assistiveware.
An example of how we are using these two apps together is a book Owen created for one of his assignments. With Owen's permission I've shared the video version of this app in my latest YouTube video:
Owen's books
Those of you who know Owen know what a big fan of books he is. At the moment I'm reading out loud to him The Little Witch by Otfried Preussler and we are both enjoying it a lot. Although he is happy to be stretching himself with some novels, he still loves the classics he has enjoyed for years and we shared a couple in Owen's book about his favourite things:
Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner
The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
So do you think you will try either of this apps? Or do you already have them and love them? If you're a Facebook person, then feel free to join my Facebook group and share your tips, comments and questions.
