The Lightning Quick Hot Pad is made in continuous rounds from simple, basic stitches. Gauge isn't crucial to the design and you can incorporate some colour therapy into making it by experimenting with 2 strands of yarn in different colourways held together.

My Granny Hexagon hot pad is not as easy to make as Diane's Lightning Quick Hot Pad but it's still a relaxing project. You need to know how to chain, slip stitch and use the double crochet to make a 3 double crochet cluster (3dcCL). The 3dcCL is essentially the same as a dc3tog but all your stitches are placed in the same space. The stitch is described step by step in the free written pattern.
