Crafts With Yarn And Popsicle Sticks - make a butterfly!

I’m so excited to be launching multiple Small But Kinda Mighty things this week: my new website and pattern bundles are live and my Beta Educational Play Set based on the theme of Difference and Diversity is nearly ready!

The Difference and Diversity play set includes two bees, a butterfly, a lavender plant, the sun and a carrying case/playmat. It also contains two original stories, Clover the Curious Wee Bee and The Three Butterfly Buddies. As you can probably guess from the title, the butterfly story involves three butterflies but you only get one amigurumi butterfly in the set. So, I’ve put together a video showing you how to make a yarn butterfly craft in 5 easy steps. Please do watch the video and let me know what you think:

You can use these butterflies to enact The Three Butterflies or to make up stories of your own!

Keep your eyes open for future crafting projects and blog posts addressing issues such as:

  • what makes SBKM toys different from ones you can purchase in big box stores?
  • what makes SBKM toys and the materials that go with them educational and inclusive?
  • why are arts and crafts crucial for children's development?
  • my kid isn't interested in crafting, what should I do?

I can't wait to hear what you think!
