Amigurumi crochet patterns for characters based on food and drinks.
Morning Joe the Coffee Cup
This coffee cup is just an ordinary Joe who wears his heart on his sleeve but he has personality in abundance! Make one for yourself, the people you love and all the people you know who love coffee! Terrific as a Valentine’s gift, stocking stuffer or teacher’s gift.
To complete this pattern, you’ll need:
Worsted weight yarn: in white, tan and red
Size F (3.75mm) crochet hook
9mm black safety eyes
polyester stuffing
Tapestry needle
Most of this pattern is easy: single crochet, increases and decreases. The sleeve is a combination of single crochet and front post single crochet. If you’re new to post stitches and/or colourwork, this would be a great first project to try because the pattern includes detailed instructions, progress photos, helpful links and the sleeve itself is only 5 rounds.
Denny the Doughnut
After publishing the pattern for Joe the Coffee Cup I polled my twitter followers to ask what they wanted me to make for Valentine’s Day. The overwhelming winner of the vote was: doughnuts. Which makes sense because really, what is coffee without doughnuts?
Denny is a mini doughnut - only 2.5 inches wide and would make an adorable Valentine’s gift, stocking stuffer or teacher’s gift.
To complete this pattern, you’ll need:
DK weight yarn: in doughnut and icing colours plus scraps for sprinkles
Size E (3.5mm) crochet hook
7.5mm black safety eyes
polyester stuffing
Tapestry needle
This pattern is a little fiddly in places because of the doughnut’s shape and small size. However, it is relatively easy in terms of stitches required - mostly single crochet, increases and decreases with the edge of the icing a combination of tall and short stitches. A good project for a confident beginner looking for something quick to make and a wee bit of a challenge.
