The Spring Simplicity Shawl is a calming, simple crochet shawl that any crocheter will enjoy if they are looking for a meditative, mindful crochet project. This easy triangle crochet shawl enables you to take a break from stress and overthinking and utilize therapeutic crafting to help you focus on and live in, the present.
The pattern provides both written and charted instructions for two sizes of shawl:
- A shallower, wider shawl and
- A deeper but less wide version
- The shawl is designed to result in straight, even edges with no holes at the beginning of the rows, so you won't need to edge your fabric but there are instructions on how to add an optional border if you choose to.
U.S. terminology is used throughout.
To complete this project you’ll need:
- Between 500 and 750 yards of fingering or light fingering weight yarn (see Yarn, below for recommendations)
- Size H (5.0mm) crochet hook plus a 4.0mm crochet hook for the optional border
- Locking stitch markers
- Yarn needle
- T-pins and blocking surface
Yarn
For the shallower Spring Simplicity Shawl I used Fino by Manos Del Uruguay and for the border I also used Skein Study Merino single
For the deeper shawl (which is not as wide), with no border, I used various sock yarns from my stash. The main colour (variegated) yarn is Socknado by Ancient Arts and the solid colours are mostly Jawoll Superwash 75/25 by Lang Yarns
