Easy crochet dishcloth pattern | Granny square gift wrap | Day 3 of 12 Days of Hookmas
Easy crochet dishcloth pattern - how's this for a multi-purpose crochet project? Learn (or practice) making a granny square using this free pattern. Use the granny square as eco-friendly gift wrapping that the gift recipient can reuse as a place mat, table centrepiece or, if you make it with cotton, then it can be used as a dishcloth or washcloth. How cute would this be if it were filled with strawberry or raspberry scented soaps?!
My Learn to crochet online ebook includes my original FREE, single colour Granny Square pattern. The ebook has both a written and charted pattern for the granny square, plus it links to a video walk-through of the pattern.
This granny square gift wrap pattern has been modified from the original to make a Granny Square that has smaller “holes” and a decorative border
This is the third in my series of 12 free crochet projects that are quick and easy to make. If you are a beginner I don't recommend using this pattern to make a washcloth or dishcloth because cotton and other plant fibres can be difficult for beginners due to their lack of elasticity.
If you missed the first two free crochet patterns for the holidays:
- Day 1 was my Bunny from a crochet square pattern
- Day 2 was my amigurumi ball pattern, modified to make a Christmas ornament.
If you make any items using my patterns I would really love to see them so please do join my crochet Facebook group to share your pictures and show off any of your other completed projects.
