Christmas tree ornament crochet patterns - Part 1: Tinsel the Amigurumi Tree
Christmas tree ornament crochet patterns - as part of the 12 Days of Hookmas (12 twelve free patterns for quick easy crochet projects), I have not one but two free Christmas tree patterns to share! The first is Tinsel the Amigurumi Xmas Tree.
Beginners don't need to have mastered the magic circle before crocheting this cute little tree because he's made by working in rows. Crocheters do however need to know how to chain, work into a foundation chain, and make the single crochet and half double crochet stitches. Tinsel has been made using the crossed single crochet (x-sc) stitch but if you're not comfortable doing that you can instead use a regular single crochet throughout.
Tinsel lies flat, so in addition to being a good candidate for a hanging ornament, he could also be used as a gift tag. I'm going to try and crochet a few of these trees so I can make them into a garland.
Tinsel is the 7th of 12 free patterns for the holidays. In case you missed the first six, here are the links:
- Day 1 was my Bunny from a crochet square pattern
- Day 2 was my amigurumi ball pattern, modified to make a Christmas ornament
- Day 3 was an easy crochet dishcloth pattern for a Granny Square you can use as gift wrap
- Day 4 was amigurumi Chocolate Holiday Kisses
- Day 5 was a 3-in-1 pattern for mug rugs
- Day 6 was a Granny Star
If you make any items using my patterns I would really love to see them so please do join my crochet Facebook group to share your pictures and show off any of your other completed projects.
